What happened with Netflix Password Sharing ban

Despite objections from users all across the world, the crackdown on sharing Netflix passwords is already well under way. Even the streaming juggernaut itself anticipated some retraction in subscriber numbers before things started to grow, so it was not thought that Netflix’s crackdown on password sharing would take effect right immediately.

Surprisingly, though, there has not been a widespread Netflix exodus. According to the most recent data on Netflix members from research firm Antenna, which was obtained by Variety, the streaming service is actually experiencing growth as more individuals open new accounts. According to Antenna, once the company started informing U.S. users on May 23 that password sharing will halt, sign-ups increased at their fastest rate since January 2019. According to the research, between May 25 and May 28, the daily number of new users increased by 102% to 73,000.
