New Apple iPhone to be unveiled on Sept. 12
Apple said Tuesday it would hold its fall event on Sept. 12, setting the stage for what analysts believe will be the unveiling of a new iPhone line and smartwatches.
The event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater at its headquarters in Cupertino, California state, according to invitations from the world’s most valuable company by market value.
According to Wall Street analysts, Apple will try to attract buyers with a series of new features for its flagship device, against a backdrop of falling global demand for smartphones.
Apple reported a 2.4% decline in iPhone sales in its fiscal third quarter, an unusual drop for a product that for years has driven the company’s growth.
The most expensive variant of the next-generation iPhone will have a periscope camera that could improve zoom capability by 5x or more, according to TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
The expected watch line could incorporate a new processor based on Apple’s A15 Bionic chip, already used in previous iPhone models, and will boost performance, according to a Bloomberg News report.
