The Google Pixel 8 event is scheduled for October 4
An historic hardware season is coming up quickly. Google has planted the Pixel flag a day after Apple formally announced the date for the debut of the iPhone 15. The company’s customized handset will make its public debut in New York City on October 4. Following the launch of the Pixel 7a and Google’s first foldable, the Pixel Fold, at I/O, the future Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro flagship will almost probably be unveiled at the event.
If history is any guide (which it usually is), the annual fall Made by Google event will feature a flurry of new gear, including the Pixel Watch 2. As Google’s first real Wear OS device, the Pixel Watch from last year was a bit of a mixed bag but earned positive reviews overall. The company’s 2019 acquisition of Fitbit is directly responsible for several of the device’s advantages.
The Google phone line has been on the rise since the release of the Pixel 6 in 2021, which represented a drastic change for the line with a new premium design, enhanced optics, and the first-party Tensor chip. Early photographs of the smartphone, which remarkably resembles the Pixel 7, and information about the Tensor G3 chip’s nine cores and Arm Immortalis architecture architecture have been leaked.
The event will be livestreamed on YouTube and begins at 10AM ET. As usual, we will be there in person.
