Apple introduces the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max
This Tuesday, Apple unveiled a brand-new lineup of smartphones that includes four distinct models. The new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are the most cutting-edge of all of them since they incorporate everything that the Cupertino firm is capable of doing in the area of mobile telecommunications.
Many new functions are built into these modern phones. New components, altered designs, a more potent processor, quicker charging, and, of course, an enhanced camera are all improvements.
All of this is done with one goal in mind: to continue to be the gold standard for high-end mobile phones. One of the top-selling smartphones on the market and the mirror in which all major manufacturers examine themselves.
Both the iPhone 15 Pro and the Pro Max variant welcome titanium. This material, used by Apple in some models of Apple Watch, arrives for the first time to the company’s cell phone. It is a very resistant material, premium no doubt and lighter.
Another interesting new feature is the disappearance of the mute switch that has remained on all iPhones since 2007. This has been replaced by a new action button that is reminiscent of the one on the Apple Watch Ultra and allows you to trigger different processes. By default, it only toggles between mute and sound mode. However, it can be configured to activate the do not disturb mode, start a voice recording, take pictures, start the flashlight or activate any of the Siri shortcuts you have in your library.
As it does every year, Apple has introduced a new processor for its new iPhone range. On this occasion, the iPhone 15 Pro (and the Pro Max variant) welcome the A17 Pro chip, the first in the mobile range to adopt that surname. And, in the absence of detailed testing, this new processor aims to be the most advanced currently available in a cell phone.
Both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max welcome, at last, the USB-C. This connector had been in other company products for years, but was reluctant to come to the iPhone.
One of the areas in which the Pro versions of the iPhone have always been particularly different is photography.
First of all, the main camera maintains the 48 megapixel resolution, but brings under the arm several improvements.
One of them is the possibility of shooting at 24 megapixel resolution -offering a good balance between sharpness and storage weight-.
It also now offers a choice of three new focal lengths (24 mm, 28 mm and 35 mm), in addition to those previously available.
Those who wish can now take 48-megapixel photos directly in HEIF. Previously it was only possible to shoot 48 megapixels in ProRAW format.
The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will be available for pre-order starting this Friday in major markets, but will not go on sale until Friday, September 22. The prices of these models have been lowered in Europe due to the favorable evolution of the dollar-euro exchange rates in recent months. Thus, the range is as follows:
iPhone 15 Pro from 1219 euros.
iPhone 15 Pro Max from 1469 euros.
