Box office experts forecast that Taylor Swift’s concert movie The Eras Tour will easily reach $150 million in its first weekend of release
Due to strong demand and secondary market price increases, a sizable section of Swift’s following was unable to attend the concert in person, which has increased demand for the tickets. The movie is anticipated to lure many who could not attend and encourage repeat viewings.
Because of the overwhelming demand, Swift decided to move the release day from Friday to Thursday, with showtimes starting at 6 p.m. local time.
Tickets for standard formats start at a base price of $13.13 for children and $19.89 for adults. The figures correspond to Swift’s birthday and her lucky number, which is 13. Tickets for premium formats, such IMAX and Dolby, are more expensive.
The movie’s distributor, AMC Entertainment, revealed last week that presales for its cinemas had already surpassed $100 million for the whole run of Swift’s movie.
