The IT sector is concerned about a lack of talent: AWS Mexico
According to Rubén Mugártegui, CEO of Amazon Web Services Mexico, the technology sector is equally concerned about the rising skills shortage in Mexico and throughout the world.
The head of Amazon’s cloud division said in an interview that the region’s digital skills deficit is expected to affect 2.5 million workers in Latin America alone by 2026, and the sector battles annually to close the gap.
Because of the dearth of talent in the digital space, estimates indicate that those who work in technology are the ones who hope to make the highest salary in the industry.
Rubén Mugártegui of AWS says that the company has demonstrated that it can close the digital skills gap by investing in training initiatives inside the cloud services sector.
The CEO claims that they are able to meet a portion of the talent requirements in both AWS and the teams of its 130,000 partners thanks to the training that Amazon Web Services provides.
Mugártegui claims that Amazon offers training programs in the requisite technology abilities that may be completed in a matter of weeks or months and result in certification.
Globally, AWS is committed to train 29 million people in the world, a goal of which just over 2 million have been trained in Latin America, and of that group, 400 thousand in CDMX.
