Musk travels to the German Tesla Gigafactory following an alleged arson incident
The Tesla Gigafactory, which was forced to cease work last week after losing power after a suspected arson assault, was visited by Elon Musk on Wednesday. The Gigafactory is located near Berlin.
Images show Musk greeting staff members on stage in a tent where they had gathered to greet him and waving to them as he arrived at the facility in the German state of Brandenburg.
According to local media, Musk reportedly said, «I love you» to the audience in German, but his other remarks were overpowered by loud music and a production car that was pulling up in front of reporters.
The Gigafactory had to momentarily halt work and lose power last week due to an alleged fire on a nearby electric substation. In a statement posted on social media site X, Tesla claimed that the event was directed at the corporation.
In a letter published online, the left-wing extremist organization «Vulkangruppe» claimed responsibility for the attack and criticized Tesla’s environmental skills. Authorities in the area are currently looking into the matter.zIn a letter published online, the left-wing extremist organization «Vulkangruppe» claimed responsibility for the attack and criticized Tesla’s environmental skills. The Brandenburg facility is planned for expansion, but because it would result in the loss of nearby woods, the proposal has encountered strong opposition from the community and environmental organizations. In a show of protest, activists have made camp close to the facility.
