Toyota forecasts record sales in Mexico this year
Toyota said that this year would be its greatest year ever for sales in Mexico after seeing a 22% increase in sales in the first half of the year, giving it an 8.2% market share in Mexico.
The firm sold 58,081 units from January to July, which is equivalent to 55% of their yearly target.
The Hilux pickup dominated the company’s sales, with the Corolla and RAV4 SUV following closely after.
The company expected its hybrid car sales to rise 25% by the end of 2024, but they grew 27% only up to the first half of the year.
Juan Mejía, director of Customer Service at Toyota Mexico, said that service has been key to maintaining the company’s competitiveness in the market.
For this reason, the company is making progress in high-performance operational programs that allow it to have highly trained personnel.
Toyota has been present in Mexico since April 2002. In 22 years, the company has placed 1.5 million cars in the Mexican market.
