With the assistance of Nvidia and the star’s sociologists, Meta unveils the new IA Llama model
Llama 3.1, the most recent iteration of Meta’s artificial intelligence technology, was unveiled on Tuesday. There are three versions of the newest Llama technology available; the largest and most powerful AI model produced by Meta to date is found in one version. The most recent Llama model is still accessible for free since, like earlier iterations, it is open source.
The social network’s significant investment to remain competitive with other AI leaders, including tech giants like Google and Amazon, and innovative startups like Anthropic and OpenAI, is demonstrated by the introduction of the new large language model, or LLM.
The statement also emphasizes how closely and steadily Meta and Nvidia have been collaborators. As one of Meta’s primary partners, Nvidia gives the social media behemoth the GPUs it needs to train its AI models, which include the most recent iteration of Llama.
A representative for Meta stated at a media event that the company has no aspirations to launch a rival enterprise tech company, unlike OpenAI and other businesses who want to profit by selling customers access to their proprietary LLMs or by providing services to assist clients in using the technology.
Rather than releasing Llama 3.1 independently, as it did with Llama 2 last summer, Meta is teaming up with a few IT firms that will provide security and management technologies that are compatible with Llama 3.1 and grant their clients access to it through their own cloud computing platforms. A few of the 25 Llama-related business partners of Meta are Databricks, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Dell.
