After defeating Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic finally adds an Olympic gold medal

Throughout all of his Grand Slam victories and other accolades, and throughout his tenure at the top of the rankings, Novak Djokovic longed for Serbia to win an Olympic gold medal—the final noteworthy feat omitted from his impressive record.

In the thrilling and equally contested men’s tennis singles final at the 2024 Games, he eventually earned one on Sunday, defeating Carlos Alcaraz 7-6 (3), 7-6 (2). He is 37 years old.

“When I take everything into consideration, this probably is the biggest sporting success I ever had in my career,” said Djokovic
