Nokia and Swisscom announce deployment of control drone service throughout Switzerland
In a joint statement released on Thursday, Nokia and Swisscom announced their partnership to establish a drone network in Switzerland to enhance infrastructure inspection and emergency response.
The cell phone carrier Swisscom will use 300 unmanned vehicles that the Finnish telecom equipment manufacturer will supply as part of a nationwide drone-as-a-service (DaaS) network.
Customers may utilize drones on demand without having to buy or operate them thanks to the DaaS business model.
Swisscom Broadcast will be able to arrange for a drone flight and provide access to the data gathered for public safety authorities in Switzerland, such the police and fire department.
