By 2025, United Airlines will provide free in-flight Wi-Fi owing to SpaceX’s Starlink technology
United Airlines, the most recent airline to provide free Internet access, said on Thursday that it will outfit its aircraft with free in-flight Wi-Fi utilizing SpaceX’s Starlink Internet service starting next year.
Early in 2025, United will start testing SpaceX’s Starlink service before adding more flights to it later in the year, the airline announced.
According to United, all travelers on board the airline’s more than 1,000 flights would be able to connect several devices at once for free.
According to the Wall Street Journal, SpaceX’s Starlink technology cannot be installed aboard United Airlines’ aircraft until the Federal Aviation Administration gives its approval.
