Ford wants to increase EV sales and allay owner worries by introducing a new perks package
By addressing any customer concerns with a new program that offers free home-charging installation and other incentives, Ford Motor hopes to increase sales of its electric vehicles.
Customers who buy or lease a new Ford electric vehicle, such as the F-150 Lightning pickup truck or the Mustang Mach-E crossover, may start taking advantage of the «Ford Power Promise» program on Tuesday. Reducing the cost associated with EV ownership, such as the requirement for a home charger, is one of the objectives. Additionally, the initiative aims to inform new EV owners about the switch from gas-powered vehicles.
The initiative is starting at a time when EV sales are increasing more slowly than many had anticipated. Early adopters ran to the cars, but because of expenses, infrastructure for charging, and other issues, automakers have had trouble growing sales to the general public.
According to Gjaja, Ford’s initiative attempts to solve a number of those issues. It was designed to combat what Ford is referring to as «change anxiety,» a play on the term «range anxiety» used by the industry to describe the concern that an electric vehicle’s battery may run out of juice in between charging stations.
