Sales of new cars are declining, a trend not seen since 2022
Mexico’s new automobile sales fell 1.4% in September, the first decline the industry has faced since April 2022, when sales fell 1%.
In the ninth month of the year, 116,453 new automobiles were sold, according to official numbers that were made public on Wednesday.
Even if sales of new cars have decreased this month, they have nevertheless increased by 10.5% year to year, with 1,079,413 units sold from January to the ninth month of the year.
From January to September, Nissan was the top brand in the nation for new car marketing, accounting for 17% of the market.
Second place went to General Motors, with 14%; Volkswagen was in third position, with 11.8% of sales.
With 8.4% and 7.1% of the total sales thus far this year, Toyota and KIa are now ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.
