Microsoft and Nvidia support OpenAI in a $6.6 billion funding round
The business that created ChatGPT, OpenAI, collected $6.6 billion from investors, potentially elevating its market worth to $157 billion and solidifying its place among the most valuable private corporations globally.
The money has drawn the interest of Microsoft, the largest corporate supporter of OpenAI, as well as new investors Nvidia and returning venture capitalists Thrive Capital and Khosla Ventures.
The funds are being closed in tandem with the company’s continuing attempts to restructure and replace executives, which included the sudden exit of Mira Murati, the company’s longstanding chief technology officer, last week.
