Amazon invests $110 billion pesos in Mexico; reaffirms its confidence in the country
Some marketing and sales professionals refer to the purchasing experience on this platform as the «Amazon effect.» However, the corporation has to invest several million pesos in the nation in order to create this phenomena. In addition to being the first generation of executives to request the first investment for Mexico in Seattle, Pedro Huerta is the current Country Manager of Amazon Mexico.
The corporation has opened two more shipping centers this year, one in Jalisco and the other in Nuevo Leon. The first center can hold up to 900,000 products, while the other facility can hold up to 750,000 things.
Data from the Mexican Association of Online Sales’ (AMVO) research of customer preferences shows that, even more than price, 69% of consumers cite the speed at which their purchases arrive at home as the primary reason for making an online purchase. Amazon has made investments in this phenomena, along with other businesses like Mercado Libre and shops like Liverpool and Walmart.
In its report, Amazon reaffirms that as of today it has almost 27,000 sellers in the country, representing a 52% increase over the previous year, and that together they offer more than 5 million products in the store.
