Boeing aims to raise its credit rating by selling defense surveillance units
In an effort to strengthen its faltering finances, Boeing revealed on Sunday that it had concluded a deal this month to sell a minor defense unit that produces surveillance equipment for the US military.
According to a statement from Boeing, Thales Defense & Security, a division of Thales SA, the biggest defense electronics company in Europe, will purchase Digital Receiver Technology, which produces wireless equipment used by intelligence services.
The specifics of the agreement were not disclosed by Boeing.
