Donald Trump has won the presidency of the United States
According to the Associated Press, Trump will become the 47th president of the United States after capturing Wisconsin’s ten electoral votes at 5:34 a.m. (EST) Wednesday, bringing his total to 277 electoral votes and erasing Harris’ prospects of victory.
With more than 90% of the ballots tabulated, Trump led Harris by around 110,000 votes in the critical states of Michigan and Wisconsin shortly after 5 a.m., making Harris’ victory implausible. Either of these states would give Trump the 270 electoral votes he needs to win. The Associated Press has yet to declare a victor in these states due to unresolved ballots in Milwaukee and Detroit.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and France’s President Emmanuel Macron all congratulated Trump early Wednesday, with Netanyahu describing his victory as «the greatest comeback in history» and Macron expressing a willingness to collaborate as they have in the previous four years. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also praised him (albeit the Associated Press has not yet proclaimed a winner).
