Toyota announces $1.45 billion investment in its BC and Guanajuato factories

Toyota de México will invest $1.45 billion in Mexico to improve operations at its facilities in Baja California and Guanajuato.

According to the firm, the investment is intended to fund the manufacturing of a new generation of Tacoma pickup trucks and electric hybrid Tacoma vehicles.

By the end of 2024, the funds will have allowed for the development of almost 1,600 new employment in manufacturing sites in Baja California and Guanajuato.

“With this investment, which adds to the nearly 2 billion dollars that the company has invested during 22 years of presence in Mexico, Toyota strengthens its production capacity, including the manufacture of electrified vehicles,” the company said.
