Grupo Financiero Banorte has announced its commitment to stimulate the growth of 1 million trees in Mexico between 2025 and 2030, as part of the World Economic Forum’s (1t.org) 1 Trillion Trees project.

Grupo Financiero Banorte has become the first Mexican institution to join 1 Trillion Trees (1t.org), ratifying its commitment to the health of our planet and future generations.

Throughout this context, Carlos Hank González, Chairman of the Board of Grupo Financiero Banorte, stated: «Our commitment to sustainability includes replanting throughout Mexico. This cooperation represents an investment in life for Mexico and its communities, contributing to the country’s well-being and prosperity for current and future generations.»

To uphold its commitment, Grupo Financiero Banorte will coordinate a series of enabling activities with its partners, including nursery and seedling development, education and training, community mobilization, youth engagement, and the use of technology and data management tools to track the progress of the actions.

In this activity, Grupo Financiero Banorte will work with Reforestamos Mexico and other national groups to coordinate tree-planting activities and connect with local stakeholders such as indigenous peoples and communities.
