Jaguar unveils ‘Type 00’ concept car, the first under contentious new brand name
Jaguar, the renowned British automaker, presented its new vehicle design direction Monday night with the launch of an all-electric concept car known as the «Type 00.»
The car, dubbed «Type Zero Zero,» has a basic but somewhat garish look. It is boxy, with elegant lights and huge wheels, and stands out visually from the brand’s existing fast vehicles and SUVs.
Automakers frequently utilize concept vehicles to evaluate client interest in a design or to demonstrate the future direction of a vehicle or brand. The vehicles are not intended to be marketed to consumers.
Jaguar plans to develop many new electric vehicles in the future years, including a four-door GT car that will be presented next year and is similar to the concept car.
Jaguar’s next production EV is expected to have a range of up to 430 miles on a single charge, with rapid charging delivering up to 200 miles in 15 minutes.
The new concept vehicle comes weeks after Jaguar unveiled an artistically colorful video introducing the company’s «Copy Nothing» rebranding.
