Biden’s total student debt reduction reaches $183 billion when he forgives another 150,000 debtors

In his closing days in office, President Joe Biden announced that his administration will forgive more than 150,000 student loan holders.

According to Biden, the relief will benefit 85,000 persons who attended schools that «cheated and defrauded their students,» 61,000 debtors with a total and permanent disability, and another 6,100 public service workers.

Since taking office, Biden has forgiven debt for over 5 million federal student loan borrowers, resulting in $183.6 billion in relief.
