In 2024, the purchase of electric and hybrid cars in Mexico will climb by 84%
According to the Electro Mobility Association (EMA), the purchase of electric vehicles (EVs) and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) in Mexico increased by 84% in 2024, with the latter being in highest demand.
In a press release, the group stated that the total number of units sold was 69,713, a record.
Hybrid unit sales increased by 155%, while electric vehicle sales increased by 37%.
According to the report, the country’s zero-emission vehicle fleet totals 107,633 units, with 50.3% electric and 49.7% plug-in hybrids.
The recharging infrastructure at the end of 2024 grew 5% compared to the third quarter and reached 45,055 available connectors in the country.
