Tesla has chosen showrooms in New Delhi and Mumbai to commence sales in India

Tesla has chosen locations for two showrooms in New Delhi and Mumbai, bringing its long-awaited aspirations to sell electric vehicles in India closer to reality, according to persons familiar with the situation.
The American automaker has been looking for land in India since late last year to begin sales in the world’s third-largest vehicle market, after postponing plans to enter the region in 2022.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in the United States last week to address subjects such as space, mobility, and technology.
Tesla has chosen a place to lease in the Aerocity region near New Delhi’s international airport for a showroom, according to two people involved with the discussions who declined to be identified because the topic is confidential.
In Mumbai, the automaker has chosen a space in the Bandra Kurla complex’s shopping and business center near the city’s airport, the first person said. Both the Delhi and Mumbai showrooms will be about 464.52 square meters in size, the source said.
