Nvidia reveals a new quantum computing lab, according to its CEO

Nvidia will open a quantum computing research facility in Boston, collaborating with scientists from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, according to CEO Jensen Huang on Thursday.
Huang made the announcement at Nvidia’s annual software developer conference in San José, California, where the company held a day of events focused on numerical computing.
Nvidia added it the program after Huang said in January that useful quantum computers would be 20 years away, comments he tried to walk back on Thursday when he was joined on stage by executives from quantum computing firms.
“This is the first event in history where the CEO of a company invites all the guests to explain why he got it wrong,” Huang said.
The Nvidia Accelerated Quantum Research Center, or NVAQC, will work with quantum startups including Quantinuum, Quantum Machines, and QuEra Computing. Nvidia said that the facility will open later this year.
