Olegario Vázquez Raña, the founder and president of Grupo Empresarial Ángeles, died

Mexican businessman Olegario Vázquez Raña, founder and president of Grupo Empresarial Ángeles (GEA), died on March 28 at the age of 89. According to journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva, the businessman was suffering from an illness with which he had been struggling for several months.
Born on December 10, 1935 in Mexico City, Vázquez Raña stood out as one of the most influential businessmen in the country, building a conglomerate that encompasses sectors such as health, tourism, finance and media.
He transformed the Vázquez Brothers Company, founded by his parents, into Grupo Empresarial Ángeles (GEA), owner of Hospitales Ángeles, Camino Real hotels and majority shareholder of Grupo Imagen. GEA also has a strong presence in the financial sector through Grupo Financiero Multiva.
