If Google is compelled to sell its browser, OpenAI raises its hand

In order to increase competition in the internet search engine industry, the technology company OpenAI has offered to purchase Chrome if the court wins in favor of the US government and compels the massive Google to sell its browser.
«Yes, we would like to purchase Chrome. According to multiple local media outlets, Nick Turley, product manager of ChatGPT, one of OpenAI’s commercial successes, stated during a hearing in the District Court of the District of Columbia, «So would many others.»
Turley said in court about a failed attempt to collaborate with Google on its artificial intelligence technology, which the behemoth rejected last summer.
Google intends to appeal the final decision since it does not want to sell Chrome.
Utilizing technology from Microsoft’s search engine and Bing, ChatGPT aims to expand by displaying Google content in its results.
Since he believed it could increase competition to improve these servers, the AI product manager consented to share the giant’s search data.
The Department of Justice is not just pursuing Google; it has also filed a lawsuit against Apple, claiming that the latter prevents customers from switching away from its software and products.
Similarly, Amazon has been sued by the FTC for allegedly bullying small e-commerce businesses and Meta for allegedly destroying its competitors by acquiring Instagram and WhatsApp.
Last Monday, the lawsuit against Meta got underway in the nation’s capital.
