Apple estimates that next quarter’s Trump tariffs will cost $900 million

Apple stated on Thursday that the business will incur roughly $900 million in expenses the following quarter if the hefty tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump stay in place.
“We cannot accurately estimate the impact of the levies, but, assuming current global tariff rates remain unchanged for the remainder of the quarter, we estimate the impact will add $900 million to our costs,” said Apple’s top executive, Tim Cook.
According to the businessman, he anticipates that most iPhones sold in the US will be imported from India, while nearly all iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, and AirPods will be made in Vietnam, two nations with lower tariffs than China.
The tariffs had no impact over the last three months as the business streamlined its inventory and supply chain, according to Cook, who, like other tech leaders, has demonstrated a surprising rapprochement with Trump in recent months.
