OpenAI to open Seoul office amid growing demand for ChatGPT

South Korea has the most paying ChatGPT subscribers after the United States, according to OpenAI, which also announced that it has started hiring staff to support partnerships with the country and will be announcing more information in the coming months.

As demand for its ChatGPT service grows in the country, OpenAI has established an entity in South Korea and plans to open its first office in Seoul, the company said Monday.

“Korea’s full-stack AI ecosystem makes it one of the most promising markets in the world for the significant impact of AI, from silicon to software, and from students to seniors,” Chief Strategy Officer Jason Kwon said in a statement.
