Stellantis appoints Antonio Filosa as its new global CEO

After a screening process that involved both internal and external applicants, the board of directors of Stellantis unanimously chose Antonio Filosa as its new CEO. John Elkann, who will continue to serve as the company’s executive chairman, led the special committee that made the choice.

“It is a great honor for me to be named CEO of this fantastic company,” said Filosa. «We have the best and most iconic brands in the world, and a track record of more than 100 years of innovation. This legacy, coupled with our tireless dedication to the customer, will continue to be key to our success.»

Filosa has over 25 years of experience in the automotive business, holding senior positions across multiple areas before taking on this role. In the United States, he has spearheaded important projects like reducing dealership inventory backlogs and revamping product strategies while serving as COO of Stellantis in South America and, more recently, the entire Americas region.

While he was in South America, Filosa established Fiat as the market leader and fueled the expansion of Citroën, Peugeot, Ram, and Jeep. He also supervised the construction of the Pernambuco plant in Brazil and the successful debut of the Jeep brand in that nation, which currently constitutes its largest market outside the United States.
