Amazon and Talen Energy agree to use nuclear energy to power data centers

On Wednesday, U.S. utility Talen Energy announced an expanded nuclear power collaboration with Amazon that will allow it to supply Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers with up to 1,920 megawatts of electricity from its Susquehanna facility in Pennsylvania.

Along with looking to increase the nuclear plant’s electricity output, both businesses will investigate building more small modular reactors inside the Talen complex in Pennsylvania.
