According to Nvidia, there are no «active discussions» regarding the sale of the Blackwell chip to China

Nvidia, led by its executive director Jensen Huang, stated this past week that «no hay conversaciones activas» on the sale of advanced Blackwell chips to China.

Blackwell is currently Nvidia’s signature IA chip, whose sale to China has been blocked up till now by the Trump administration. Out of concern that it might benefit the Chinese military and its own IA industry.

Though there are currently no indications that an agreement has been struck. There was conjecture this week that discussions between Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump in South Korea would result in an agreement to permit the sale of a scaled-down version of the Blackwell in China.

Shortly after landing in the city of Tainan during his fourth official visit to Taiwan this year. Huang declared, «At this time, we have no plans to ship anything to China.» «I hope they change their policy; it’s up to China when they want Nvidia products to return to the Chinese market,» he continued.

Although Huang has stated on several occasions over the past month that China does not want Nvidia in the nation. The United States has permitted Nvidia to sell its H2O chip in China; as a result, Nvidia has no market share for advanced AI chips.

Huang stated that he was in Taiwan for a day and a half to visit his longtime partner TSMC and take part in the company’s sports day in statements that were broadcast live on the Taiwanese news channel Formosa TV. He declared, «Business is going very well.» «I returned to support my friends at TSMC for that reason.»

In response to a question concerning Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s intention to construct a semiconductor factory. Huang stated that while it is highly challenging to establish advanced semiconductor manufacturing skills like those held by TSMC, «it is a very important technology and demand is extremely high.»

Huang also explained his recent remarks, which were cited in a Financial Times article, in which he purportedly asserted that China would prevail in the race for artificial intelligence.
