Italian Laura Burdese was named the new CEO of the Bvlgari brand by French luxury goods behemoth LVMH on Thursday, with effect from July 1.

Before joining Bvlgari as marketing director in 2022, Laura Burdese began her nearly ten-year career with the LVMH group as general manager of Acqua di Parma. She was elevated to deputy general manager in July 2024 after spearheading the brand’s development and transformation in previous years, according to a statement from the parent business.

In his new position, Burdese will replace Jean-Christophe Babin, who served as CEO for the past 12 years.

According to LVMH, during this period he succeeded in consolidating “the appeal and sustainable growth” of the Italian jewelry and luxury goods brand.

“Under his leadership, the company underwent a profound transformation, regaining its unique position as the Roman jeweler par excellence,” said the statement about Babin, who will continue to chair the board of directors and remain at the helm of Bvlgari’s hotel division and the foundation of the same name.
