Britney Spears sells an indie publisher the rights to her discography

Pop star Britney Spears sold the rights to her music catalog to independent publisher Primary Wave, the latest artist to strike a deal for her work.
Entertainment site TMZ, citing legal documents it had obtained, was the first to report the news, saying the “Ups… I Did It Again” and “Toxic” singer signed the contract on December 30.
It cited sources who claimed it was “in the same range” as Canadian singer Justin Bieber’s alleged $200 million deal to sell his music rights to Hipgnosis in 2023.
A person familiar with the situation said the news about the deal between Spears and Primary Wave was accurate. No further details were given.
A request for comment from Primary Wave, the label that represents artists including Whitney Houston, Prince, and Stevie Nicks, was not immediately answered. Spears has refrained from making public remarks.
