The judge denied the demand to reinstate Tesla’s $56 billion payment to Musk

A Delaware judge ruled Monday that Tesla CEO Elon Musk is still ineligible for a $56 billion salary package, despite a vote by the electric vehicle company’s shareholders to revive it.

Judge Kathaleen McCormick’s judgment follows her January decision, which declared the pay deal exorbitant and overturned it, shocking investors and casting doubt on Musk’s future at the world’s most valuable automaker.

Musk did not immediately respond to an email requesting comment.

Tesla has stated in court documents that the judge should recognize a subsequent shareholder vote in June in favor of Musk’s pay package, the company’s driving force and the source of many of its accomplishments, and reinstate his salary.
