The inaugural games of an unprecedented 2030 World Cup, which will be played across Europe and Africa and commemorate the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup, will be held in Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay.

The 48-team tournament will begin in the Estadio Centenario in Montevideo, Uruguay, the location of the inaugural 1930 World Cup final, after FIFA and the heads of soccer’s regional confederations reached an agreement on Wednesday.

Argentina and Paraguay will both play their home debuts at the same time.

According to Robert Harrison, the president of the Paraguayan Football Association, who attended the press conference alongside Dominguez and the executives of the other two federations, Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay «have already qualified» for the 2030 World Cup by hosting three matches.
