GPT-4 Turbo Updates, OpenAI’s Newest Model
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman introduced a new ChatGPT model that can draw from a newer collection of information and claims to follow instructions better.
During its recent developer conference, OpenAI released a slew of new capabilities for ChatGPT and other artificial intelligence technologies. Two of the most notable announcements from the company’s event were the imminent release of a creation tool for chatbots called GPTs (short for generative pretrained transformers) and a new model for ChatGPT called GPT-4 Turbo.
Say farewell to ChatGPT’s constant reminder that its information cutoff date is September 2021. «We are as frustrated as you are, if not more, that GPT-4’s knowledge of the world expired in 2021,» stated Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, addressing the conference. The updated model includes data until April 2023, allowing it to respond to your prompts with more current context.
GPT-4 Turbo can handle up to 128,000 context tokens. Despite the fact that tokens aren’t synonymous with the number of words you can include with a question, the new restriction is roughly equivalent to the number of words from 300 book pages.
Subscribers to ChatGPT Plus may be familiar with the GPT-4 dropdown menu, which allows you to choose which chatbot tools to utilize. You may, for example, select the Dall-E 3 beta if you want AI-generated photos or the Browse with Bing version if you need internet links.
