After a $2.7 billion loss in the first half of the year, Stellantis anticipates a greater impact from tariffs

Stellantis expects a greater impact from Trump’s tariffs on vehicle and auto parts imports in the second half of 2025.

The company reported a preliminary net loss of €2.3 billion ($2.7 billion) for the first six months of the year.

The automaker, which owns an extensive portfolio of brands including Jeep, Ram, Peugeot and Fiat, said President Donald Trump’s tariffs had cost it €300 million so far, as the company reduced vehicle shipments and cut some production to adjust manufacturing levels.

However, CFO Doug Ostermann informed analysts that the €300 million impact does not reflect the group’s expectations for the second half, as the tariffs were implemented only halfway through the first half.

“Unless there are changes, we will see much more in the second half (…) based on the current outlook, I expect that figure to double or more in the second half,” he stated.

He stated that Stellantis was assessing the total impact for the year to be between €1 billion and €1.5 billion.
