Beginning on December 10th, Meta will prohibit Australian teenagers from using Facebook and Instagram

In accordance with Australia’s stringent ban on social media for teens, Meta stated on Thursday that it will restrict access to Instagram, Facebook, and Threads. For Australian users under the age of 16 beginning on December 10.

According to the firm, in-app notifications, emails, and SMS have already started alerting customers. Who it considers to be between the ages of 13 and 15 that their accounts will be terminated.

Having previously told MPs that it would only start limiting access once the bill went into force on December 10, Meta said it anticipates finishing the process by that date.
