The New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs’ first three games in the 2026 NBA Finals broke records for the most social media views, the largest audience share for an NBA game, and the highest ratings for a Knicks game in New York.

According to an NBA statement, the first three games of the NBA Finals had received around 5 billion social media views, the most for any Finals after three games.

With U.S. President Donald Trump present, Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Knicks and the Spurs on Monday at Madison Square Garden in New York had the greatest viewership share in NBA history at 42.7%.

The percentage of households (or individuals) that watch a show out of all the televisions that are on is known as the viewership share.

Additionally, with an average of 23.8 million people on ABC and ESPN and a peak audience of 26.3 million, Game 3 of the Finals was the most watched Game 3 in the previous 28 years since the 1998 game between Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz.
