As competition for wearables from Apple and Samsung increases, Oura will offer its smart rings on Amazon

With Samsung anticipated to enter the market this year, the smart ring space is suddenly getting competitive, while Apple has been packing its Watch with more functions related to health.

As the market for wearable health and wellness devices continues to expand, Oura has announced that it will now offer its smart rings on Amazon.

Beginning on Thursday, American customers may purchase the whole collection of rings and accessories from Oura on Amazon by visiting its own brand store. Additionally, sizing kits will be available for purchase, with the assistance of consumers in determining the proper fit and a price reduction equal to the kit’s cost.

Oura’s new e-commerce strategy with Amazon expands on the alliance it revealed with Best Buy the previous year, providing the business with its first large-scale U.S. retail potential. In the past, the firm mostly used its website to sell its goods directly to customers.

The decision was made in response to Samsung posing a fresh threat to Oura in the smart ring market. Samsung’s newest wearable, the Galaxy Ring, is anticipated to be on sale this year. It will have heart rate and sleep tracking capabilities in addition to a readiness score for the day that users may utilize.

Additionally, Apple has been enhancing the Watch series’ health functions.

Research-grade sensors are included into Oura rings to monitor temperature, sleep cycles, and heart rate. After that, the data is examined to offer insights on stress levels, physical activity, and general wellness.

Amazon was one of the rival companies that was directly vying for consumers’ wrists, fingers, and other body parts with its devices. Despite its billion-dollar valuation, the market has seen a shakeout in recent years. Among other reasons, Amazon dropped its Halo wearable in April of last year, citing a saturated market. Fitbit, the pioneer of wearable technology, was purchased by Google some years ago, and Alphabet incorporated it into the Google Pixel Watch.
