Microsoft donated $1 million to the Trump inauguration fund
Microsoft announced Thursday that it will contribute $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump‘s inaugural fund.
The software company is now more linked with its highly valued counterparts in the technology business. Google announced earlier Thursday that it will donate $1 million to the Trump fund, while Meta did the same in December. Amazon apparently planned to make a comparable contribution.
In December, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman pledged $1 million, and this week, Axios claimed that Apple CEO Tim Cook will also contribute.
Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO and the world’s wealthiest person, has been coaching Trump as he prepares to return to the White House after his inauguration later this month.
Microsoft also provided $500,000 to the inaugural inauguration fund for Trump’s first term, and the same amount to President Joe Biden’s fund.
Microsoft is expecting that under Trump, the United States will shift artificial intelligence policy in a positive way.
