F1 might become Apple Studios’ biggest hit ever after earning $55 million in its first weekend of release

Brad Pitt’s new Formula One racing picture, «F1,» from Apple Original Films, was the first huge blockbuster in theaters for the computer giant’s film and television production facilities. It topped the box office charts over the weekend.
According to early data released in a number of Hollywood trade newspapers, «F1» made $55.6 million at the domestic box office over the weekend. It also brought in an extra $88.4 million abroad and $10 million from previews.
In order to turn a profit from box office receipts, the movie must continue to draw audiences to theaters in the upcoming weeks, as it has yet to recover its enormous $200 million budget.
