Investors demand an explanation from Disney for its decision to halt the Kimmel show

On Wednesday, a number of Walt Disney investors requested that the media be given documents pertaining to its decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel’s show last week so that they may be reviewed.

Six days after his remarks on the purported murderer of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk provoked social media uproar and pressure from the Trump administration, Kimmel made a comeback to the air on Tuesday night.

Attorneys for the American Federation of Teachers, the AFL-CIO, and Reporters Without Borders wrote to Disney requesting that the business provide documents pertaining to Kimmel’s suspension.

According to the letter, the complaint aims to look into any misconduct, poor management, and fiduciary violations by Disney’s leadership and board of directors.

Information calculating the possible effects of Jimmy Kimmel Live’s suspension on Disney’s earnings and its contracts with affiliate networks Nexstar and Sinclair, who declined to air the program, are among the information that shareholders are demanding.

If Disney does not provide the requested information within five business days, the groups’ attorneys threatened to sue for the records.
