A ChatGTP feature that would enable users to make purchases is introduced by OpenAI

In collaboration with Etsy and Shopify, OpenAI unveiled a functionality that will enable users to make purchases via ChatGPT.
Although it won’t have an impact on product costs, merchants will be required to pay OpenAI a commission for each completed transaction. Instant Payment will not incur any extra fees for users.
The agreement gives OpenAI a new revenue stream by utilizing ChatGPT’s high user traffic in addition to its conventional subscription model.
“ChatGPT users in the US, whether they have the Plus, Pro, or free versions, can now buy directly from Etsy sellers in the US from within the chat, and soon more than a million Shopify merchants, such as Glossier, SKIMS, Spanx, and Vuori, will be added,” OpenAI said in a blog post.
