On Wednesday, American airlines canceled around 900 flights

Hours before the House of Representatives voted on a measure to end the federal government shutdown, flight cancellations in the US drastically decreased on Wednesday as air traffic control absences decreased.

Due to a Federal Aviation Administration mandate that they cancel 6% of flights at the 40 busiest airports in order to address safety concerns, U.S. airlines cancelled roughly 900 flights on Wednesday, the fewest in six days.
