The richest person in the world, Elon Musk, claims that funding OpenAI was «a fool»

The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, stated in court on Wednesday that he was «a fool» to support OpenAI’s foundation, which he is suing for altering the company’s original non-profit goals.
“I was a fool who provided them with free funding to create a ‘startup’… I gave them $38 million in essentially free funding to create what would become an $800 billion company,” the billionaire stated.
In a lawsuit he started in 2014 against ChatGPT’s parent business, its co-founders Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, and its primary partner, Microsoft, for breach of contract and unjust enrichment, Musk is testifying for the second day in a federal court in Oakland, California.
The co-founder of SpaceX, xAI, and Tesla has frequently claimed in court that he was duped into giving money to the OpenAI foundation, a non-profit company founded in 2015, by his old friend Altman.
Despite maintaining a hybrid structure with low profit, the software company was granted regulatory authority last year to restructure its core operation and become a for-profit corporation.
