Aeromexico and Delta prevail in their fight to save their joint venture
A US appeals court this Thursday annulled the Donald Trump government’s September 2025 order, which sought to force Delta Air Lines and Aeroméxico to dissolve a joint venture.
The airlines sued last year to block the Transportation Department’s order to dissolve the 10-year-old joint venture that allows the companies to coordinate schedules, fares and capacity on flights between the United States and Mexico.
Last year, a court suspended the order pending resolution of the appeal.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit noted that the Department of Transportation “failed to reasonably explain why it conducted a much more limited market analysis in this case than it had always done in the past.”
