Banorte joins the list of the most environmentally friendly businesses in the world

TIME and Statista’s «World’s Most Sustainable Companies 2026» list, which assesses the environmental, social, and governance performance of businesses globally, included Grupo Financiero Banorte.

Sustainability is becoming a crucial consideration when assessing a company’s interactions with its workers, clients, investors, and communities in addition to its environmental impact.

In light of this, Banorte was named one of the most sustainable businesses in the world for 2026 in TIME magazine’s «World’s Most Sustainable Companies» ranking, which was created in collaboration with Statista.

According to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, the list honors 750 businesses worldwide.

Carlos Hank González, Chairman of the Board of Grupo Financiero Banorte, noted that this recognition aligns with the institution’s vision of building a bank committed to future generations.

“This recognition confirms that at Banorte, we are building the bank Mexico needs: a solid, responsible institution committed to the future,” he stated.

The executive added that the strategy aims to foster the well-being of Mexican families and communities, while also integrating environmental stewardship into the institution’s operations.

Inclusion in such rankings also demonstrates how ESG criteria have gained traction within the financial sector. It is no longer solely about measuring an institution’s financial results. But also about examining how it manages its environmental and social impacts and the governance mechanisms it employs.
