After Zachary Kirkhorn’s resignation, Tesla names a new financial director
Elon Musk’s company did not specify the reason for Kirkhorn’s departure; he had worked for Tesla for 13 years and would remain there until the end of the year to ease the transition.
After the launch of the compact sedan Model 3 during his term, Tesla earned its first quarterly profit and reached a market valuation of more than $1 billion.
«Being a part of this company is a unique experience, and I’m extremely proud of the work we’ve done together since I joined more than 13 years ago,» Kirkhorn wrote in a LinkedIn post.
When contacted via LinkedIn, Kirkhorn did not immediately respond to inquiries. The price of Tesla stock dropped by 2%.
This year, Tesla reduced the price of its vehicles in a move that prioritized sales growth and market share while maintaining its leadership position in the sector.
Additionally, Tesla has hinted at further price reductions during what Elon Musk described as «turbulent times,» since rising mortgage costs are having a negative impact on the sales of electric vehicle manufacturers.
